Bus Ride to Paris
The Saturday I left at 6 a.m. to catch my 7:30 National Express bus to meet Mandy and Matt in Paris. I would've taken the Eurostar, but because I checked too late, all the cheapo fares were sold and I didn't want to pay over $200 CAD round trip. The bus, comming in at just over $100 CAD, so not bad.
The bus ride itself was a lot of fun. It was a double-decker type bus, so the driver and luggage was on the main level, while all us passengers were on the top level. Bonus was I got a seat right in the front row, so I got to watch the road as if I was driving. Lots of fun and good opportunities for photos:

I snapped a photo just after we passed a highway sign warning us of 'extreme fog'.
The nice thing about the ride between London and Paris is that we took the ferry from Dover to Calais, so I got to walk around on the boat for 90 minutes. And I got to see the cliffs of Dover!
Excuse the bus-reflection in the window.
Here's an interessting car that we saw board the ferry. Not sure what is it, but it probably got chilly being all out in the open like that.
I also saw, for a short while, what I think is the dover castle. Although I can't be sure, because of course, there isn't a sign or anything.
These are some of my favorite pictures of the cliffs. I will definitely be back there to visit, especially since it's only a 2 hour bus ride away. And they have a national rail station, so I could take the train, too.
Yes, that's a little boat in the picture on the right. Little tiny boat.
The rest of the bus ride wasn't that exciting. Once we got to the French side the weather turned miserable and cold and picture taking wasn't as much fun anymore.
The only catch with the bus ride was that we arrived in Paris almost 2 hours late. This threw my plans of meeting Mandy and Matt at the train station for a loop, since rather than arriving 1.5 hours before them, I arrived after them, with no way of contacting them. So while Mandy left Matt at the train station to head to the office to pick up the keys for the apartment, I waited at the apartment for them. We finally met up at 8 p.m. that day after much stress.
